It's great because they have the bumpers that automatically pop when it's the kids' turn. But the left one got stuck so that helped Melinda's and my score just a little bit, especially because Saffron ended up bowling half the time for Melinda. Saffy loved the bowling shoes and was adamant about not turning them back in.We then drove to Sandy and had lunch at the Joy Luck Chinese restaurant. Miles really liked the cream cheese wontons and the sweet and sour shrimp.
Then we went to the Living Planet Aquarium. It's actually just the "preview center" since they're hoping to get enough funding to build a gigantic one done at the Gateway.
I had heard it was housed in a former grocery store, so I wasn't sure what to expect. But we got there and had a great time. It's not to big, but they had lots of great stuff.
They had a cool section with Utah native fish and amphibians. We especially liked the jellyfish, the octopus, and the sharks.
Saffron loved playing in the little caves and loved the clownfish, "Nemo!"
Lisette and Miles had fun petting the sting rays. Next time we'll remember to wear short sleeve shirts.

This is just funny-Dave and I went to the Joy Luck restaurant just a couple of weeks ago after a temple trip. We used our happenings book card but got the family style dinner with the sizzling Mongolian chicken platter and the Cantonese flat noodles with beef. We're definitely taking the kids when we can afford to go again since they like Chinese. How did you find this place? We just found it by the happenings book and luck but Dave said he thinks we have a new favorite Chinese restaurant (previous favorite was the New Ho Ho Gourmet on 33rd). Yes, I grabbed a brochure-I wouldn't have remembered the exact name of our dinner choices without it.
Oh, Dave's been downloading more and more songs for Frets on Fire.
We used the Happenings coupon as well. It was quite good and very reasonable (we did go during lunch hours, though.) We would definitely go again. Our favorite Chinese place is still probably Dragon Diner on 39th South and 13th East.
I haven't figured out how to upload new songs to Frets on Fire. I have been avoiding it since that one song sticks in my brain like glue!
