Root canal bliss

Last Saturday Melinda went out to eat at La Paisa Grill at the Latino Market while Connie watched the kids.  I was still hobbling around with one crutch, but we had a great time being out together and eating good food.  My knee is continuing to improve, and I can see how in just one week I can get around so much better.  After eating and walking around we got a couple of Mexican popsicles from a little ice cream shop.  I got a mango popsicle and Melinda got a mango chili pepper popsicle (which was surprisingly refreshing.)

But on the way home I noticed that one of my upper molars started to ache.  After all my knee surgery pain I was caught unaware how bad tooth pain can be.  The pain was very intense, and when it flared up it was one of those pains that makes it really hard to concentrate.  After suffering all weekend, I went to the dentist on Monday and he referred me to a specialist that does root canals.

My dentist friend told me that root canals have this really bad reputation for being very painful, but it didn’t hurt at all with the local anesthetic, and I felt so much better afterwards that I just kept feeling that I would do a Troy Bolton and break out in song any minute!  Having a reprieve from the pain was pure bliss.
